The Droid (Android in general but especially v2.0) apps, games, and other random discussions remind me of something called warez (old-school warez anyway). Some of you may have an idea what I'm talking about
Yes the genre is big..the scenes on IRC, vintage AOL, FTPs, amongst others.
Maybe it has to do with how the operating system works on the phone.
Even though there are no chats with advertising scrollers...I guess the discussion forums have taken their place on sites like this.
