Droid will not turn on....help?

So this morning my phone was dead (battery ran out of juice). No matter where i plug it in (home, car charger, media doc @ work) it will not turn on.

When plugged into a charger, it just cycles thru the boot animation. When I connect it to my laptop I see a the following message blinking "Battery Low Cannot Connect".

Is this just a problem with my battery, or is it something else? Has anyone else ran across this?

I am trying to hold out until the Galaxy Nexus is out, so I hope there is a solution.

its the battery. do you have an external charger you can use to charge your battery while its out of your phone?

my wifes d1 use to do it all the time...she would use it until it totally discharged and she couldnt get it to boot back up again until i swapped batterys with her and charged her battery in my d1.
