Droid wont call certain contacts

My droid does not allow me to make calls to certain contacts. When i try to call them, the phone looks like its about to make a call and then it goes back to the contact screen. When these contacts try to call me, no call shows up on my screen but the blue light comes on and stays on. I could really use some help!

Take a look at your contacts that it happens to. Scroll down when you view their info and check if there is a send directly to voicemail option or auto reject or something like that. Guy I know had that problem with his HTC Incredible.

The contacts more than likely have a +1 in front of their phone number. This is a known issue. Remove the +1 and they should work fine.

For awhile i was able to make calls and send texts even WITH the +1 infront of the area code but not calls wont connect and texts wont go through. ive tried everything possible to fix this problem and the only solution ive come up with is to retype that contacts number under a different contact label. it sounds lazy but this is a real teadious pain.

is there a way to eliminate the +1 all in one shot? because unlike most people i use the vast majority of my contacts in my phone.

im talking about the contacts that were downloaded to my phone from facebook. they automatically put the +1 in front of the area code.
