Droid won't connect to my Mac notebook.

I just got a new phone charger that plugs into my computer. My old one broke. When I had the old charger, the second I plugged my phone into my laptop, it would recognize the USB connection and I would be able to mount the phone.

Now, my phone will only charge. I want it to actually connect to my MacBook so that I can transfer files to and from it. What should I do?

Thanks

If the cable was advertised for charging it may not have the data pins connected. The one that came with the phone was a standard microUSB to USB cable, and worked for charging and data.

If not, and you've checked your USB settings, I don't know.

To check your USB settings, plug the phone into the computer, pull down your notification bar and look for the USB Connection. If it is there (good you've got the right cable), change the settings to Mass Storage.
