Droid X Delivery Date

Hi,
I recently ordred my droid X from the verizon wireless store, and I was wondering if they usually ship on the date they say they will ship by or earlier. Like it says will ship by 8/25, will they ship it earlier. Wondering about your experiences.

they said 18th for me and i'll get mine tomorrow according to my fedex tracking
