The better method would be to copy it to /sdcard/media/ringtones and create the folders if you have to. Then as you flash new roms, your ringtones all carry over, and you don't have to recopy them.
How do I move this file from my desktop to the file you've specified on the droid?
I tried downloading the file to my phone but it says it is unsupported so I downloaded to my pc desktop. I can't seem to access my phone files from the computer though. Any ideas?

Did you mount the sd card??? Plug your usb cable into your phone, turn on usb mode. Open your file browser, go to your sd card, and create the folder structure on your sd card: /media/ringtones. Save the file in that ringtone folder. Eject the card from your PC, turn off usb mode on the droid, and enjoy the ringtone.
