Droid X how to back up SMS text messages to a pc?

I haven't received my DX yet, but I have been doing some reading to figure a few things out. Is there a way to export or save text messages to a pc from the DX? I receive a lot of texts for work and I have been using Bitpim with my old phone to save them. Does anyone know if this possible with the DX? Also I am assuming files stored on the SD card are accessible in some kind of folder tree structure. Am I correct? Can I just drag and drop files like pics, video, and music? I am running Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

Thanks in advance...

There is a program that is called SMS back up and Restore(i believe that is the name). It will back up your texts on a schedule or manually to your sd card. And yes once the sdcard/phone is mounted and connected to the PC you can drag and drop files like normal.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is it included with the phone or is it an app that I need to buy? Also what format does it store them in? I normally export as a csv format and then open it in excel...

Thanks

I believe it is a free app that you can find in the Market once you get your phone. I want to say it does/might have an option for csv. I dont currently have it installed but I do remember it has a few options.

EDIT: ok I was wrong...exports in XML format.

ok here's the profile. Unzip it first them import it into tasker. Please note this is INCOMING only, but if you wanted to use the same log file for outgoing texts just clone the profile and release the SMSReceived event with SMSSUCCESS, then change the text string of from INCOMING to OUTGOING
