greetings,
so, I am working on updating to final gingerbread courtesy of TBH, by first flashing to stock froyo 2.3.340, using RSD Lite, followed by root, clockwork, then the 3 TBH files.
I've used RSD Lite several times with droid 1, and pretty much every time it gave the right results, but with unexpected behavior, or having to pull plug or something jinky to make it work.
The guide for droid x was pretty straightforward, and it states that it reboots phone properly, which was issue on Droid 1, at least for me. What happens now is it runs through flash process, gets to 100%, and at which point then asks for me to manually turn phone on. Well, phone reboots on its own and loads the stock rom. The first or second time I rebooted phone myself, had to pull battery, left usb cord attached though, went into recovery, and factory reset, per recommendation from guide. At this point RSD Lite still says "please manually power up this phone", progress- 100%, result- "In Process", and it just sits there, additionally there are a lot, like 20-30 .smg files loaded into root c:\, where I have .sbf recovery file.
After discovering that, I re-flashed it, thinking the files were supposed to be on phone, but the same thing happened. I activated phone, and it seems operational, but what the heck are all those files doing left over in c:\? I remember it did that to me with my Droid 1, do not remember outcome. So, now I'm at a point where Result is stuck at "in process" and I have to close down RSD Lite which comes with a warning that I may damage phone. I've already done it once and it doesn't seem to affect anything, but it's supposed to say "Pass" noting that flash process is complete.
Anyone know what's going on here? I'm going to go ahead and load the rooted gingerbread files, and see what happens, I see no other course of action at this point.
Leftover files in sbf folder?
Flashing process does not result in a "Pass"?
Thanks a lot,
rlr
