Droid X texting issue

When I send a mass text (one text to multiple people at the same time) if any of them reply the chances are they will text one of the contacts in the mass text rather than me.

I've had several issues with this recently...

I create a multiple contact text on this phone just like I did with any of the Non android phones of the past. So I don't understand what the issue is.

Any helpful replies will be appreciated.
