Droid X2 camera flashing by itself

Hello, I'm a new user here.

I notice that when I move the camera into an area of dark lighting, it will occasionally flash by itself. It seems like it's trying to focus. However, it's very inconsistent and only happens rarely. Is this normal behavior?

No, your phones camera shouldn't flash when you go into a dark room. But since you say it happens randomly and infrequently that makes it difficult to figure out what the issue could be.

Are you sure you're not accidentally pressing something? Is it camera mode when this happens?

It was in camera mode. After failing to replicate it for the last few hours I figure it was just a bug that resolved itself after restarting the phone.
