Droid X2: Contacts App Crashes

Just got a Droid X2 and when I tap a contact it attempts to open the contact but then it goes back to the home screen. I also had this on an early version of my Droid X. Is there a fix for this? I really just want to throw this piece of junk in the trash if there is no fix for this.

Oh yes, all of that. I've actually had to do a factory reset twice on this phone. In all three environments I could not open/edit/view contacts.

Sounds like a faulty phone.

I finally got it to work after rooting and then factory resetting. This has been the worst "out of box" experience I've had with any phone since my iPhone. Gads.
