Owners of Motorola's Droid X2 should expect to see a new OTA update that will bring the device to build 1.3.418.MB870. The update is only about 35mb but brings some usefull patches and fixes. Most notably the update brings a security patch, updates to VZ Navigator, and a few UI tweaks. Check out Verizon's release announcement above.

There isn't a solid release date, but according to Verizons website it is "coming soon". Once it rolls out, Verizon expects the update to take 10-20 minutes to download depending on the network and an additional 5-10 minutes for the install. You can manually check for this update by going to Settings > About Phone > System Updates > Download. Let us know when you get it.

Verizon and Moto: Hey DX2 owners, I know we basically flipped you the bird by not upgrading you to Ice Cream Sandwich, but here's an update to VZ Navigator. We cool, right?

Who needs ICS? This update should have had it's own press release like Apple!

DX2 owners = Moto's Red-Headed Step-Children. How DOES one pick a phone with a good update/upgrade/support prognosis? Guess I shoulda been happy w/Gingerbread.

Will the new vzw bloatware be uninstallable? seriously what an insult.
