Droid X2 won't boot

I have a Droid X2 (rooted, stock rom) and it recently decided to not boot, I have some data on the internal memory that I NEED, so I really don't want to wipe it to factory defaults. I've looked around and I really don't understand everything, I know how to get to the recovery mode... but the options are a little skimpy and not very helpful. Any recommendations for how to either access the internal memory or get it to boot?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: I forgot to mention that it gets stuck at the big M / "Dual Core Technology" logo... never says "DROID" or does the fancy boot animation.

if you keep digging someone else got to their internal memory from the bootloader I believe because they were in the same boat as you. try checking XDA too.
