DroidForums mobile App permissions

Why does the DroidForums mobile app need:

-Full internet access
-Storage - modify/delete SD card content
-Hardware control - control vibrator
-System tools - prevent phone from sleeping

Seems like a lot of control for a forum app.

Is this a joke? 4 isn't much and aren't asking for anything intrusive :icon_eek:

Internet: Obviously needs internet access
Storage: Stores cache/downloads to the SD card
control vibrator: If you want it to vibrate for alert
System tools - so that when you're reading your phone doesn't fall asleep on you.

No, it was not a joke. It was a question. I am concerned when I download an app and it asks to modify/delete anything on my SD card. I asked because I thought someone would know the answer.

I would be concerned if it was some random site, but you're talking about a site with hundreds of thousands of people who view it every day. The owners of this site would not risk the reputation for something as stupid as deleting something on someone's sd card, it wouldn't benefit them. I'd bet my phone that it only modifies or deletes things related to the caches/images/etc it downloads
