I use chomp sms in which i cant find a don't resend on fail option and and iPhone users messages sometimes arrive delayed i think it is when its a bad signal area but if i restart all of a sudden they pour in . i have a lg g4 which has the issue worse than my droid maxx. Any ideas to fix? I am also on verizon.

When this happens people get about 9 repeating messages from me even though i only sent one.

On a separate note i love Verizon's web interface for texting which stays logged in even on reboots on windows. I wish it would work on android chrome.

I would call vzw and let them know to check towers. Most likely an issue on their end..especially if its happened on 2 separate devices..they could check and see if its your account..but I'd doubt that..wouldn't hurt to check though

I have been working with their tech support called a few times they havent found a way to fix

This is my first go-to-fix for most problems (sometimes works and sometimes not)... go into system recovery and clear partition cache. It may clear up the problem.

Clearing and wiping phone does not help in my case

This is a tower thing...call and request to be elevated and submit a trouble ticket..

I agree, it could be a tower thing. Or a combination tower-phone problem or just the phone or even a problem with the app. Because it happens with his lg g4 but not so with his Maxx makes me wonder if the duplicate/delayed messages might be a problem with the phone. I know before lollipop I had no problems with data or phone reception. After, lollipop it's horrible and it doesn't seem it would be Verizon towers because my son's moto x next to me is getting great reception. Lollipop did something to my reception. Although that hasn't caused problems with sending duplicate texts. That almost seems to me that it could be a problem with the app. It is a puzzle.

It seems to be a problem with my lg g4 not being able to get a reliable connection to verizons apn which i am checking with an escalated verizon ticket i even tried android safe mode withem and had same issue. Safe mode is when you hit power button then hold the power option and it asks if you want to restart in safe mode similiar to windows safe mode

Sorry to hear you're having problems with your new G4 @SMYDSMITH ! That must be frustrating to say the least. Good luck with a resolution and post your results once Verizon gets back to you.

S5 tap'n

I talked with verizon and they said even though i tried safe mode and clean wiped my phone that Verizon and Google backups might be bringing back old apps that cause the issue. I don't buy it as issue happens in safe mode Still following up with them ...

No. Whomever you're speaking to is not up to speed..duplicate and lagging sms is a tower issue....quite often you can't tell them that..smdh

They have offered to swap my simm and phone they saw it is app related and that google repopulates the saved apps . I dont buy it. Happened again today aggravating

Verizon is putting a better antenna in my work building theat should help with the bad signal but i wish lg had matter a phone that doesnt have auch bad issues in low signal areas

Swapped my lg g4 for a droid turbo and so far I like the batter better and haven't had the issues I had with the g4 yet but I miss the features of the g4.

Verizon wouldn't fix my lg g4 issues they would only swap it for a new one so I traded in the lg g4 for credit and some old droid that was values at a dollar but Verizon had a special all smartphone are valued at minimum of 200 towards a turbo so I broke even

The new antenna at work improved signal strength received but now they have to adjust the retransmitted which are actually currently making the LTE quality even worse than it was

I compared lg g4 and turbo hd calling and both had static

Still learning the turbo anybody have tips?
