Duplicated text messages on my Motorola Dext

I have a problem with duplicated text messages: I receive a message twice (or I see the same message notified two times).

I have a Motorola Dext who I bought already flashed to Android 2.1.

There is a way to solve this issue?

Are you using 2 sms services?

If you are using a 3rd party app for texting, like handcent, you need to turn off notifications in the stock sms app.

i've had the droid since november 7th 09 so not exactly new to this, but how come every time I turn off the stock keyboard to use smart keyboard pro or whatever it comes back on it's own? I guess if I was rooted I could delete the stock board or something .. that the only way?
