Early Upgrade Question

Well, 4 months from upgrade date VZW gave me an early upgrade. They asked me what happened to my phone? I said "it's broke" and left it at that. They said, "let us see it and maybe we can fix it". I then said "really?? I will go get it, are you sure?" They said "yes". I then told them it was in a pile of $hit in a port-o-potty at the zoo. Do you really want it LMAO. They were all in stitches laughing and one guy said "pick a phone, your upgrade is valid today"

I hung my head in shame and got a Razr Maxx:biggrin:

Don't know if I fully agree with that... :tongue: Honey tastes better than than crap. I've always found giving CS people "honey", instead of giving them crap, works a LOT better at getting what I want/need/deserve/whatever.

They work in CS and I'm sure they deal with pissed off customers all the time, it gets old. Try to be respectful, but don't suck up too much. It's better if they see you're a loyal customer who also pays their bill on time. I got an early upgrade when I got my Nexus, think it was about 2 month upgrade or close to it

I've heard that method backfiring numerous times, quite funny actually. Unsatisfied customer trying to pull some leverage with the cancel account thread, Verizon calls their bluff and they end up staying

No, doesn't work. Every time we heard that we'd look in the notes, because if you always say "I'm going to cancel" it's in there. And, occasionally I would call their bluff and start figuring out their early termination fees. That got the conversation back on course.

I got a year early upgrade. Wasnt due to me breaking my thunderbolt it was because of the constant exchanging it. At first she only offered me to purchase a phone at retail price. Asked if there is any other offer she could give me. Politely. She went to her supervisor and advised me that i could do an early upgrade minus apple products. (Like i cared about getting an iphone)
