Easy pausing?

Has anyone found a way to pause? Its a bit of a PITA right now....

Wake screen
swipe to unlock
pull up the music player if its been minimized
pause

Doesnt seem too bad unless you're at work and someone walks up to talk to you, or your work phone starts ringing.
