A Chinese company named Eken will be bringing a budget-conscious Android 4.0/ICS tablet to the U.S. soon. The tablet is called the Eken B70, and will retail for just $99 bucks. Of course, at that price you can't really expect stellar hardware specs. Here's a breakdown:
  • 7-Inch low resolution 800 x 480 pixel display
  • 1.2 GHz Allwinner A10 ARM Cortex-A8 single core CPU
  • 512MB of RAM
  • 4GB of storage
  • Capactive touchscreen, Gmail, Google Maps, and the Google Play Store
  • Front and rear cameras.
  • HDMI output
  • Full-sized USB port
  • A mini USB port
  • A microSD card slot
  • The Eken B70
  • Mic and speaker for playing music or video or for making voice or video calls
Despite the low-end processor and RAM it does have some surprising add-ons for this price-point. It's already on sale in China, and will come to the U.S. shortly.

I'm mad there's a processor called "Allwinner".
