Editing Contact List

I just got my first smart phone; Droid Razr M with Jellybean 4.1. I was looking at the contact list that I apparently got from syncing my Yahoo mail account. I noticed a lot of unusual contacts, so I tried deleting them, but got a message that they are read only and that I could only hide them. I did this for a couple of them, but then realized that there were many that I would have to hide and then thought that maybe I should figure out if there was a way to delete them or at least re-sync them or something so that only the contacts that I want get synced to the new phone. Please, if some one could tell me how to re-sync only the contacts that I want, or show me how to delete the unwanted contacts that are read only, including the hidden ones, it would be greatly appreciated.

I would go to your Yahoo account using a browser and manage the contacts there, it's easier. Your corrections on the WEB should then sync with the contacts on your phone, including deletions.
