Email addresses showing up as contacts, cannot delete

For some reason some emails that I have sent are showing up in my contact list, but only my contact list in my messaging. I would have thought they would have used the same contact list but apparantly they dont. Anyways i cannot delete these email addresses from the list. Any thoughts??
