EMAIL and Syncing the Droid X from Outlook 2010!(Annoying)

Alright... so many people have conflicting answers but i own a droid x and can honestly say that other than gmail, you may have issues getting your mail instantly. (or close to instantly):icon_evil:

Here is my dilemna- i have been a blackberry user for years, and i am just tired of it. The mail delivery was pretty much perfect but i needed a change.

I got my Droid X yesterday. I set up my Godaddy email(imap) flawlessly and began to receive emails within 20 mins... i did notice my gmail account., was lightning quick, because they use PUSH.

I have seen others say the Droid X uses push... no it doesn't. i have seen others say you can set it to poll every 5 mins... no you cant. (15min being minimum)...

I use my email for work and need my contacts, calendar to also sync. I dont want the 3rd party software, its another step which i dont need.

My question is this..has anyone used google premier? i have been wanting to try it, but i want to be sure it does not touch my website. When i went to sign up, it asked for my domain. I cant have google playing with my DNS however i understand that the MX records will need to point to the Google servers.... this is fine.

Before i try to migrate my mail, sign up, spend more time on this, does anyone have any experience with google premier? When i ask this question on their forums, i cannot get a straight answer...oh, before you tell me to use gmail standard....it is just too unsecure.

Thanks for your help

Thanks for your input.

I realize it syncs with exchange and gmail (gmail is incredibly fast with the Droid X)

I besically am ok purchasing the google premier account at 50 per year, however i am an IMAP user presently so i am not sure about the migration process and the biggest issue, they ask for my domain when signing up. The last thing i need is for someone at google, that i cant even talk to messes up my email...

does anyone use premier?

Whoa, can anyone confirm if this is true? I too need to rely on getting POP emails pushed to my phone for work and a 15min minimum to pull all new Pop (non-gmail) emails is not going to cut it.

My X is coming on Monday so please someone confirm this is not true. I'd be shocked if the X's email capabilities is so limited.

if it is true, the only work around i can see is to have Gmail pull all of your POP accounts (do this within the gmail settings) and then all the emails will be "pushed" to the X instantly like your regular gmail

NOT TRUE... it does use Push and can also poll. It's not the best client out there but does work. I'm using it now with no problems. You can also try Touchdown from the market if you like. 30 day trial is available.

Good to know. Is this done within the X settings? How do you set it up to pull or push all pop emails instantly?

Push for exchange seems to be broken on my X. Won't even do a fetch schedule, manual sync only. It's set to push, and notify in status bar, but messages either don't appear until a manual refresh, or if they do make it to the inbox but there is no notification. The same exchange account works fine with an LG Ally and an iPhone 3gs. Gmail seems ok, but is not instant. Haven't looked into the Exchange server side of things yet, but the fact that another Android device and an iPhone both work as they should, I doubt I'll find anything. I may have to move to Touchdown which is a drag, one more app to run, and I actually like the interface on the Android mail client.
