Email - Deleted messages coming back

I noticed that when I delete emails from my phone (they are set not to delete from the server as I want it to be) sometimes they are downloaded again if I "load more" at the bottom (I.E. an email I deleted Sunday night would be re-downloaded on Monday if I request to load more). In my prior experience with my Droid X and Bionic, even though I had emails set to NOT delete from the server, once I deleted them they didn't come back. Is this an ICS thing or just me dealing with a Droid phone from a different manufacturer?

I have a Droid X and my emails keep coming back too, after deleting them and emptying them from the delete box. What settings did you use on yours to stop that?
