Email not being sent

Okay. I've been browsing the forums and cannot find a straight answer to my question.

I have 3 email accounts set up in my Droid2. Yahoo, GMail & RoadRunner. I have RR set as the default account but when I try to send an email, it never leaves the outbox and I get an error saying it could not send the email. I have double checked the setting for all 3 accounts and they are correct. I get my mail from each account, no problem. Just cannot send from the phone.

Sould I be using another method of sending mail?

Might sound dumb, but are you using smtp-server.roadrunner.com as your outgoing mail server?

Not dumb at all. This is my first smart phone and I am setting it up without the help of Verizon. So, Yes, I am using rr's smtp to send. Sould I be using something else? Is there a tutorial somewhere on the forums that would help be better understand how the email works on the Droid2?
