Email Notification

Just got my Droid, but I'm not getting emails in my status bar. I get messages and everything else, but not emails. I have the box checked to notify me of emails, but I'm still not getting anything.

Anyone know what's up?

yea happens to me too...dont know what the problem is either
I have a Yahoo! account though if that makes a difference

I get emails and notifications fine for perhaps most of the day then they stop without any notice. I have to reboot the phone to get them started coming again. Very frustrating! Anyone know how to solve this?

Which email program? Stock email, k9, gmail?

The stock email client is broken. Use k9. Really, no one should use the stock client.

Sometimes wifi can cause the email clients to seize up. I thought this was fixed in 2.1, but maybe not. Are you using wifi?

OK, I'll go to Market and get K9. I'm on wifi now but not sure this is the only time this happens but I am on wifi a good bit.

I use gmail and still have problems with notifications since 2.1

Seems there is no rhyme or reason when this is going to happen. I also frequently get "loading messages....", "loading messages....", "loading messages...." and nothing ever seems to load. I have to turn it off and reboot. Guess I could give it lots more time to see if anything ever loads but I'm too impatient for that!

Notifications seem to come in fine on my phone. I use the stock email app. Then again I font receive tons of emails.

MiXoLoGiSt: they come in fine on my phone MOST of the time (I just got yours). But, sometimes they just quit coming in and it's sometime later that I realize I'm not getting any emails. I don't get tons of them either but I never know when I may miss an important one.

BTW: It was just saying "loading messages...." a few minutes ago and I hit the REFRESH on Menu and it stopped and an email came through...yours, I think.

Here is what I've noticed on my email notifications. When I get an email I get a sound/vibe. If I check that email then the next email that comes in also gives me a sound/vibe. However, if I don't check the email when the first one comes in, then all the ones that come in later give me no sound/vibe. I would like a notification on every new email, whether I've checked it since the last one arrived or not.

There are many issues here:
o google has had delay issues with gmail today
o gmail only notifies for first new email? use Gmail Notifier from the market
o stock email client is garbage. use K9 from market
o ...don't get me started. a few potential issues present in 2.01 that are hopefully not still bugs
o the ONLY way to expect good service when it comes to getting email on the droid is to send email to YOURNUMBER@vtext.com at $0.20 a pop

haven't gotten K9 yet as I haven't had any problems lately for some reason. If they resume, I'll sure try the K9 app.
