email password randomly changed?

Just checking to see if anyone else has experienced this but earlier today I got a notification on my phone saying to re enter my email password to sign back in to my account. I put the password in and I can't sign in. So I go to gmails website and I can't login at all. Apparently this has happened to some of my other friends with droids. My only hope is to fill out the account recovery form to see if I can have my account unlocked.

Have you installed any apps that asked you for your Google password? The app could have been written to transmit your password back to the developer.
