I have the same problem as SBD. I have 181 emails in my trash can in my email app (not my gmail) which is linked to my home email which is Comcast. I cannot figure out how to delete these and they, I think, are taking up phone memory (they do not appear to be on my SD card). I have logged on to Comcast and emptied the email trash can but this does nothing to the emails in the trashcan on the phone.
I'm not sure exactly what you mean by a 'sync'. There is no 'sync' option in the menu, only 'refresh'. There is also a command below the most recent downloaded messages in the inbox to 'load more messages'.
I, too, am using the Droid app eMail (since 11/09) and just discovered today that deleting email sends it to the trash and there's no "empty trash" button, pulldown or command.
that's a pretty obvious blunder.
so if/when I switch to another email client (K-9 was suggested) I expect to delet the Droid eMail app.
I'd rather be able to empty the trash folder. Has anyone discovered the magic incantation or are we stuck in full-trash-folder H*LL? (mine currently has 1404 emails:icon_eek
