Enabling Volume Rocker Song Skip?

I'm starting to really miss the ability to skip songs with the volume rocker. Does anyone know if any of the current roms or mods available can enable this? I'm not even sure at what level this is controlled, is it OS or kernel? I'm also impressed more people aren't talking about this.

I'd hope they would be doing this, im not sure if any have though, as far as i know its just mapping the intent action of skip forward to long press volume up and the intent action of skip back to long press volume down with something to determine the screen off value...not too hard i dont think?
