Error Messages when receiving pictures

Hello, I just got my fascinate last month so I am still learning how to use it. I can take and send pictures to my friends just fine, but when they try to send me stuff I get the following message ""preceding message modified, media objects removed" My friend also gets a similar message back from me and I receive no pictures. This also happens when there are "smileys" inserted somewhere in the message
I have searched the forum and can't find anything regarding this message. Is anyone else getting it? I took my phone to Best Buy and they said they had not encountered anything like it before. Help! Thanks
