European Motorola RAZR Will Have Unlockable/Relockable Bootloader

Yes, this is from European Motorola's Facebook page. This little announcement seems to show that European counterpart of our DROID RAZR here in the US will feature an unlockable/relockable bootloader depending on the wireless carrier's wishes. Looks like Verizon may really be the ones to blame for the lock down. One interesting thing I've noticed is that this seems to be the case more so on Motorola's Droid line up compared to HTC or Samsung devices. The HTC Thunderbolt was the first 4G device for Verizon and it had an unlocked bootloader but it also didn't carry the "Droid" branding.

Doesn't the Charge have either an unlocked bootloader or a very easily unlocked one?
 
What exactly does an unlocked bootloader give us?
 
gives access to the kernal, so modifications can be made to it. It will alsos help prevent having to sbf I believe.
