yeah that backlight HDR mode is nifty. Not good at all if you're aiming for a nice sunset shot though. Haven't found a mode on this thing that handles that very well yet.. just leaves me wanting to grab my DSLR

This. I love this camera on this phone, and its very useful, but my heart lies with my D5000.
