Hi, my droid has been working perfectly for a long time. Recently however it started to eat up huge amounts of background data. This causes the battery drain quite fast. Whenever background data is enabled the arrows on that 3g icon in the upper right hand corner are permanently white and the phone is warm to the touch.
Presumably, some app is using up tons of background data. How do I tell which one?
I pulled up spare parts and it indicated that network usage was dominated by "Android System" followed by "Dialer". I am guessing these are just system processes/threads.
Any ideas? This is very frustrating as a lot of my apps, particularly google voice do not work with background data turned off.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Update: deleted all my third party apps, did not help, may not be a problem with third party apps after all.
