Exchange email from my university not working w/ Droid.

I don't really know much about Exchange, but I remember when I tried to set it up on my Moto Q9m, the school said something about it not being enabled for smartphones? Is that possible?

I tried filling in all the info with the default program, and with the touchdown trial, but none work. The only thing that works is the ExchangeIt app which uses Outlook Web Access 2003, which I'm sure isn't even the same thing, but that only lets you look at your inbox.

Most of the threads I've looked at are about corporate policies or problems syncing so I wasn't sure if the former was something similar to my problem.

Are you staff or student there?

I'm a student. Basically all they've given us is information on how to set up Outlook 2007 and 2003 for exchange server. So user domain\user name, pass, exchange server. The instructions also have us enable an option to connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP. And that for Proxy authentication settings, we select NTLM Authentication.

If the entire school is on exchange you should contact the admin and have him clarify what they mean that they are not setup for smart phones. Im on staff at a campus and most our faculty use smart phones and im sure your school does as well. Unless they put restrictions on the students, and if thats the case get some friends and head for the deans office.
