Extended 3G network

I have a D2G and live in a rural area. According to the Verizon coverage map, I have extended 3G coverage at home. Neither my email nor my browser won't work unless I enable my wireless internet at home. Does this make sense? I used to have a Blackbery 8830 world edition and everything worked without this.

Im also in the Extended Network and my data works. Try and go to settings-batteryanddatamanager-datadelivery and make sure data roaming is checked.

In my Data Delivery setup,I have these options:
Background data
Data roaming
Data enabled

I had the 1st and 3rd checked, but not Data roaming. I get a warning that I could incur significant roaming charges when checked. One of my features is National Access Roaming. If I check this, no chance of me getting extra charges?

No you shouldn't get charged extra, I been using it like that for a year with no extra charges. If your worried about it call customer service to make sure no extra charges,

That worked - thanks. And I verified with Verizon that I should not have any extra charges (just turn off if I go out of the country.)
