Extended battery causing problems?

Seem like the start of some of my Bionics problems came when I installed the extended life battery. The day I pit it in was when I got my first BSOD. I bought the battery when if first was on sale for 50% off on the Verizon site. It was then the black screens and endless reboots started. Steadily getting worse until about a week ago. That's when I swapped the original battery back in. In the last eight days, I have had no black screen lockouts and only one endless reboot loop which was last night.

Now I'm wondering if some problems are due to faulty batteries somehow.

I do recall reading several threads about some of the extended batteries being replaced under warranty.
