Extended vs. Another battery

So my battery life sucks but its alright with me, but i need some answers.

I'm thinking of getting an extended or just another battery to swap with. Anyone got suggestions? I'm kinda looking for maybe some pros and cons (greatly appreciated) or just a single answer of what i should invest in.

Invest in rooting and romming your phone. Im running squidlys newest rom and I am a very avid droid 2 user. Been off the cord since 5am, its 12:50am now and Im sitting at 50%. Squids rom is a battery lifesaver.

Hence y my phone device says rooted d2 with squidly... just thought id point that out lol

Sorry I can't see that from the droidforums app. Apologies. Are u using an ultra low voltage 1ghz or less option? Did you run the battery saver low voltage from gscripts lite? Try enabling sysctl.conf mod through gscripts lite as well.

You have auto brightness enabled too I bet. I can go almost 24 hours and still be above 50% and Id say 5 to 6 hours of that is heavy use. Are you heavy using or just not wanting to charge nightly, or is your full charge not lasting you until bed time?

The extended battery would give you ~20% more battery. & then you could keep your current battery on hand incase you run the extended dead. So unless money is an issue, I don't see any reason to get a standard battery over it.

Im not sure what the droid 2 extended battery looks like, but I remember the droid 1 e.b. sticking out of the phone... was akward, couldn't put the battery cover back on and couldn't use a case, it was just made to be semi external, I don't know if that's the case for the droid 2 e.b. but I couldn't handle the huge bump on the back of the dx, thus the d2... lol

the extended battery comes with an extended cover for it, or if you use a case you can just leave off the battery cover and put the case on. thats what Im doing, been doin it like this for 3 months now and not one problem. the extended battery is amazing, IMO

Depends what one you want. The one from Verizon is hardly noticeable in size.

I have a spare standard battery and battery only wall charger. It's a sweet setup, I hadn't realized how nice it was to never have to be plugged in. I don't regret it. In fact, I actually have three standard batteries now (Had one spare for my D1, and picked up another when I got the D2.)

I definitely am a huge fan of the OEM cradle. I have 3. One at my desk at work, one at my pc at home, and one on my night stand, and a car cradle in both vehicles. My phone if its not in my hand is on a cradle 90% of the time, which saves the need for an extra battery. Definitely invest in a cradle, I love throwing some pandora on and keeping the screen from sleeping while charging and checkin out the album artwork as the songs progress. Only downfall is I used to have to take my phone off the cradle to mount usb, but Swiftp fixed that (yay wireless internal storage/sd card storage access via wifi).

Dude I went to verizon and they gave me a new battery for free. Just tell them yours is malfunctioning and they should swap it out for a new one. As long as you have warranty. Thought it might help a bit.
