Extracting Contacts from a defective phone

Hi. My droid 2s screen went bad this week...I just get a black screen but the phone is technically on and I can feel it vibrant when I slide my finger to unlock the phone. Anyways I gotta droid 3 replacement but apparentely I had not backed up my contacts on neither gmail nor backup assistant. Is there any way I would be able to extract my contacts from the SD card(is it even in there) or is my only choice here is to basically attempt to import my contacts from my old droid 2 by possibly using another functioning droid 2 to mimick/guide where I would need to press...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Odd...it should have automatically backed up your Co facts to your gmail unless you ended turning off the feature.

Bump.
