Extremely fast recharge time?

Well, I've had had my phone on for the last 16 hours or so and the battery had finally died, so I went to charge it and when I came back about 2.5 hours later, the battery was fully charged back up to 100%.

Is it just me, or does the Droid charge extremely fast or at least faster than any other phone I've owned?

It charges a lot faster then my old Storm 1 did. I have noticed it charges pretty fast. Somebody has a thread on charging times using different charging methods. I'm sure if you do a search you will find it, I'm to tired and lazy right now to look for it.

thats normal..... I can drain mine to about 50-60% and charge it up in an hour.

I think these are "LiPo" batteries which charge extremely fast.

Lithium-ion polymer to be exact...... charge time is about 12 to 1.. . in other words, I estimate 12 hours of reasonable use will charge back to full in about one hour.

Well, all I've got to say is... GREAT! I love the Droid even more now. =]

It charges alot faster then my Voyager ever did... And I have noticed that my dock charges faster than my wall charger did too... It may just be me though.

Lithium-ion batteries have a "quick charge" feature. That is, when you plug the battery in, the first 90% charges within 1 hour, and usually takes between 1-2 more hours for the last 10%.

Every phone I've ever had charges faster from the Vehicle charger as the input voltage is usually higher forcing more amps to the battery... but I don't know about the droid.
If you can look at the tiny writing to see what the output voltage is, it may give a clue.

I don't have the dock... I assume it has to charge through the little hookup connection verses inductance?

Inductance would be cool.... if you tell me its inductance.. I may have to get one just for that!

Negative on the inductance charging. That would be cool, but there is a little usb thingy in the charger that inserts into your droids's usb port when it sits in the dock.

However, that being said, I would still highly recommend the dock!
