Facebook App and the new linked Likes and Interests

I wanted to update some of my facebook profile info but was basically held at ransom to accept the new linked Likes and Interests setup before being able to do so. I had a ton of bands and tv shows in my info, and now that I had to "like" them all, when I browse the news feed from the official Android Facebook app, all of their posts show up...so much that they've basically taken over the entire feed and I have to scroll a lot to find friends' posts. My feed on the regular website (mobile or full) does not include the new liked pages. Is there anyway to fix this, or is it just another one of the many shortcomings of the joke they call an app?

I noticed this linking thing in Facebook but have been doing my best to bypass it. It is bad enough that it rarely sends updates via email like it used to. I'm glad I'm not a frequent user or this word prolly be pissing me off.
