facebook not syncing

i just started up miui and everything seems to work great other that facebook contacts not syncing with my phone. is there a reason for this or is this a problem still not worked out.

Which is that it Facebook sync doesn't work past v 3.3.

My confusion is that it worked fine in 3.3, but not so much now in 4.1. Why the step backwards? (That being said, I have yet to get a force close in 4.1, whereas there were multiple per hour on 3.3.)
