facebook on Droid X

So, I have a droid x (obvi from teh title) my sister has a droid and I have friends with various HTC android operated phones.
They all somehow have their facebook status comments and wall posts come through into their notifications bar on the top of the phone, however I can't get mine to despite every effort?

What am I doing wrong?

Yeah but that only gives me for messages, friend requests. Same as other friends phones however they recieve them and I dont...

Fb for android sucks, bad. Its getting incrementally better with updates, and you'd really expect the to pour resources into android.... but sadly that's not happening.

I have all of my settings to alert me and I rarely if ever receive them.

I'm only able to get notifications for new messages and friend requests. When something is posted to my wall, or a new comment is made on something I've posted on I get no notifications (which is exactly opposite of what I'd actually prefer!).

You could try FriendCaster (formerly flow) which is an app that mimics the fb app but does include notifications and handles sharing content (links and photos) a lot better than fb does (no mobile site). You can also add groups or other pages to your "favorites" which slots you to share directly to them. It also gives you control of what album you want to upload photos to.

It isn't prefect either.. But it does a lot of things better than fb.

Another thing, phones come preloaded with facebook but it isn't always the same app as in the market and if you are using that version you will not receive updates to the app (many of which have been awesome).
