factory reset and a 2.1 palette cleansing

Okay i don't have google earth in market after the update. But i don't want to do the reset. I couldn't find a full enough answer on the other threads. Has anyone had any other big fixes come from the factory reset?

I've read that sometimes these types of things can happen with new releases from Google....not sure if this applies or not (just one app=Google Earth). But theres an issue where you can't see any paid apps and its due to the ro.build.fingerprint (I think is what it's called) line in the build.prop file in /system. If that fingerprint is wrong, it can cause you to not see some apps in the Market. Although I believe it's JUST paid apps but it SEEMS like it COULD be related...lol I'm not 100% sure though

I think some people who didn't have the picasa albums in their gallery said that a reset fixed the issue....

I have picasa, but no Google Earth. Personally, I'm not worried about doing a factory reset just for that...
