factory reset and froyo

i am selling my droid for the x, but the person who is buying it wants it stock. can i just do a factory reset even with froyo on it and it go back to 2.1?

No, A factory reset will not return it to 2.1 non-root. you will need to use SBF to return to stock 2.1
