factory reset

so i have my droid rooted with ultimate droid and whatever version it is. as of lately my phone messages dont show up on the top left and i have the indicater on for it. it randomly goes to sites on my internet and other things. i believe a hard reset of the phone would be the fix but i dont know if hard resetting it will screw it up or anything. do i have to unroot before i do this or can i just go and factory reset it. i believe i have the phone backed up using nandroid but am also unsure how to use that. so idk if that would fix it or not

Hard reset will just wipe the phone. You shouldnt lose root or any of that jazz, it will just erase everything on the phone down to the OS level.

Also it is a good idea to do a backup of your data

thanks for the info. i did a factory restet and now it every 3 seconds tells me google voice search has to force close....
