Fascinate NOOB Looking to ROOT & ROM...help?

So, I'm about to receive a samsung fascinate as a replacement phone and have absolutely no idea how to go about rooting the phone (to un-bloat) the phone, or how to flash a custom ROM on it. I'm really thinking of flashing the latest version of MIUI for it. If this is not the right place to ask for help on this forum, can you help guide me with links where I can get a step-by-step direction to root and flash MIUI? And those of you who are using MIUI, how is it? Thanks everyone!
