fascinate not recognized by pc, not a pc problem!

Hi all! I have been reading this forum since sep 2010 when I got my fascinate. It has provided tons of useful information. My problem is I decided to root buy stayed with 2.1 . I used 1 click lag fix and renamed some apk files to .old to get rid of verizon bloat. Everything worked great. Froyo came out last week and I wanted to upgrade. I knew I had to revert to previous non-rooted state so had 1 click reverse itself, renamed all files I changed to remove .old and used superoneclick to remove root. I removed all the changes I made since rooting and removed root. Of course froyo would not install. I get same error as everyone else. I read online about a way to fix this 99.9% of the time with odin. I installed odin and got the stock tar. Now the fun part. When I plug my phone into the usb port, nothing happens. I don't mean sd card won't mount. I mean the computer does not recogize a usb device has been plugged in. I tried my phone on 10 computers. None acknowledge it has been plugged in. It does charge. I tried several cords. Turned on usb debugging, the phone recognizes it is plugged to a computer but no computer recognizes it. It is not a computer problem, it is a phone problem. I have a ton of usb devices. They all work in every computer. Anyway to fix a phone that any computer won't recognize? I have done a hard reset twice, took battery out, usb debugging on/off. Nothing matters. I can't revert to stock if no computer will see the phone. Anyway to change files in phone? reinstall them? Any help would be appreciated. I have read 20 different threads about this. It is not my card won't mount. It is not my computer sees phone as a disc drive. No computer will see it all! Thanks in advance.

You can try rebooting the phone whiles its plugged in to the computer, that does the trick sometimes. Have you tried all the usb locations on the pc? Even the ones in the back

No dice

Tried every usb port on computer. Tried rebooting phone while connected to computer. Nothing. Does samething on every computer I try.

Do you have the samsung drivers installed on the pc? Does the pc say "device not recognized", or does it just not show up at all?

I have the samsung drivers installed. No computer even beeps when I plug phone in. I never get a warning device not recognized. No computer even knows I have plugged anything in. Tried several other phones. Every other phone the computer saw a usb device had been plugged in right away. The fascinate gets no response.

Try setting (in settings/usb storage) to ask on connection. I have the same problem, if it's set to recognize as mass storage, my CPU will not recognize it. If I disconnect it and change that option to ask on connection, then select mass storage, I can get it to work.

Tried setting to ask on connection. No dice. Phone sees I have a connection and ask if I want media player or mass storage. No matter which one I pick. Computer doesn't recognize in anyway I have hooked the phone to it. I must have some corrupt file on phone. I have hard reset twice. Not sure what else to do. Any ideas?

Download and reinstall drivers. Try a few times. I had to download the drivers three times because the files were corrupted.

Make sure you're using the samsung cable that came with the phone.

I have tried several cords. Each cord I tested with other phones and they transferred data fine. I will uninstall and reinstall drivers. I don't see how this will help as no computer even knows I have hooked a usb device to it. Never get to the part where it doesn't recognize it. I will try and post how it went.

I have tried it with usb debugging on and off. The phone says different things in each but no computer recognises it.

Tried rebooting phone while connected. Nothing. Tried several cords that work with other phones. Nothing works.
