I am guessing OP is talking about cool apps that are not mainstream. Not your typical Beautiful Widgets, TappaTalk, Handcent and so on. If that is the case Here are some that I like:
Calvin and Hobbes - Best Comic strip ever!
Christian Patriot -Federalist Papers, U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights, etc
Congress - Keeping tabs on the people we send to DC
demotivators - just a nice little tension breaker
