Firmware update problem.

Ok so I noticed that I can do a firmware update on my tbolt. I tried rooting my phone before this and didnt have any luck getting it to root I think, cause I installed a app that could only work with a rooted phone and it didn't work. So when I tried to do the firmware update my phone wouldnt boot up and such. I got to the boot menu and tried a few things and eventually went back to stock everything wiping all my stuff. Question is why would I have a problem doing the firmware update if my phone wasn't rooted?

Could you reword that? I mean it kinda sounds like you DID root, or something like "half-rooted", if that's even possible. Now that you're back at stock, you should have to problems whatsoever updating.
