fitness App?

I hope that it is OK to post somewhat off topic app questions. Id like a good diet and fitness app. Mostly to track calories. No password. No commercials. Just fast.

The ability to track protein cash vitamins, etc is cool as well.

If this isn't appropriate for this forum please let me know.

Thanks

I moved you to the apps area. Keep in mind that the apps work in all Droid phones, everything I had in my D1 works in my D2. I'm sure somebody can recommend an app for you. You can also search this area for recommendations, there have been several threads on it.

I know this isn't exactly what you asked for (but you'll find good calorie counter apps too), but I recommend Cardiotrainer, especially if you like to at least occasionally do outdoor cardio such as walking, running, cycling, etc. Although there are upgradeable features that cost money, the basic ability to track your workout is there and it's free. What you end up with is a map showing your route, distance traveled, average rate of speed, calories burned, etc... and you can upload and store this data privately on their website as well, and share private links to your workouts if you feel like showing them off.

You can put it in a treadmill mode as well, but it's difficult to get accurate results. It works best outdoors where it can use GPS data to log your progress.

Thank you all for your great ideas. Might be there be an app with no commercials?

Or is that the way mist apps work? Im an app newb

There seem to be a few "calorie counter" apps. The "Calorie Counter" from Fat Secret has commercials

I use My Fitness Pal.
It syncs with their website so you can manage your account through your phone or through the site.
You can search for just about anything and the calories are listed for it...and you can even create your own item.
Very nice.

I tried and removed Fitness Pal. I really hate commercials. I would have thought there would be a lot more threads discussing this kind of program.

I can only recommend cardio trainer pro. If you get the pro version you also get a nice weight loss module. And calorific is nice too as a counter. It is not exact but easier too use and tacks well.

In Calorific you simply add portions of a certain color - green is good (for salad etc), yellow (for bread, noodles and such) and red (for meat, sweets etc. There are three sizes so you simply combine your meal - chicken sandwich would be a small grean, medium yellow and small red for example.

That way entering stuff is very easy and you don't have to weight you meals and do exact counting. Overall it fits well. And you can set up budgets like 1800 calories daily so you generate a deficit in order to loose weight slowly.

Oh and there are no ads in calorific.
