flash 10.1 and the frg22d update

Hey guys, I just posted my introduction thread!
Anyway, shall we get to it?
A while ago I mmanually updated to the frg01b update, and of course, installed a flash 10.1 apk I found online (probably here) and I have just manually updated to frg22d to get official flash, but when I installed it, I didn't get the familiar "this app will replace an existing app" yadayadayada, so I think I have 2 versions of flash that do not recognize each other. On the 01b update, I had to click the little download arrow to start embedded flash in webpages, and I still have to on 22d. So I'm wondering if my browser is running the correct/official flash or the unofficial one. Sorry if I am not making sense!

Your just a bit confused. FRG22D really is a minor update and one of the things it did was allow you to download 10.1 from the Market. So go to the Market and download that one. Now I didn't get a message saying it was replacing the existing app probably because I already had it. But go to the Market and you will see what I mean.

If you go to the Market and see something else, then you've got an issue with what you have installed. If thats so go to the General Discussion Thread and post on the thread in the stickies. about 2.2 issues. But you should be fine.

You can always go into settings/manage applications and see what version of flash you are running and if you see two Adobe Icons there (which I doubt) then you have the same app twice, but as I said, I don't see that being the case

Also if you have Root Explorer(noun) and Root Access(verb) ;) you can go into data/app and physically scroll through your installed apps if you see two that are flash and are unsure which is the newest, delete both, reboot and reinstall the Official one you have access too

Most of the time when you get something like an .apk (unofficially) and then it finallly shows in the Market it is best to uninstall the old version first, this way there is a better chance of avoiding complications/confusion like this

Thanks guys, just to make sure you guys have to click the icon to start flash or does it automatically start when you reach a page with flash embedded?

So this is interesting. Yesterday I installed metiCkone's FRG22D ROM, but ended up restoring my FRG01B backup when I was unable to get Swype to work properly (it turned out the problem was unrelated to metiCKone's ROM; I simply hadn't gotten the latest Swype installer), but now, running FRG01B, I'm suddenly able to see Adobe Flash 10.1 in the Market. It downloads and installs just fine, too. Has anyone else who's done this -- upgrade to FRG22D and then revert to FRG01B -- able to find Flash in the Market while running FRG01B?
